The Dept. of Transportation functions to facilitate ground transportation in Alabama. The annual reports include charts, drawings, financial information, maps, and statistics. The heart of these reports are the detailed reports of projects under construction during the year. These reports include the location, length, cost, contractors involved, and other information. There are also reports of activities in each county, and a report on state highway laws and regulations. Every county is represented in these reports. Details about the construction of roads, highway safety, and other subjects are given. There is one gap from 1987-1992. The annual reports are otherwise remarkably complete, and in most cases there are three copies of each report.
